Wizz Air to launch Prague–Poprad flight route

Wizz Air will reintroduce a direct flight connection between Prague and Poprad starting October 25, 2026. This marks the return of a direct air link between the Czech Republic and the Tatra Mountains after a hiatus of more than 15 years.

The new route is expected to significantly reduce travel time from nearly seven hours by car to less than one hour by plane. The project was finalized following approximately 18 months of negotiations and collaboration between regional tourism organizations, including Region Vysoké Tatry and Region Liptov.

Local officials noted that the increased accessibility is intended to boost tourism not only for the High and Low Tatras but for the broader region, including skiing destinations like Jasná and thermal wellness facilities such as Tatralandia and Bešeňová.
