Wizz Air to equip entire fleet with Starlink satellite internet by 2027

Wizz Air has signed a contract with Elon Musk’s Starlink to install satellite‑based Wi‑Fi across its whole fleet, with the rollout slated to begin in 2027. Chief Commercial Officer Ian Malin said the move aligns with the airline’s ultra‑low‑cost philosophy of expanding access for travelers.

The deal comes as Starlink expands its aviation presence, already serving U.S. carriers such as American Airlines and United, European operators like airBaltic, Air France and British Airways, and Asian airlines under the Hanjin Group. Rival low‑cost carriers Ryanair and EasyJet have so far declined to adopt the service, citing installation costs and economic concerns. Wizz Air expects to report its FY 2026 results on June 11, projecting a breakeven or modest profit for the year.
