Wizz Air to install Starlink internet on its fleet from 2027

Wizz Air announced that it will start a phased rollout of SpaceX's Starlink satellite broadband on its aircraft beginning in 2027. The low‑cost carrier says the move will make high‑speed, low‑latency internet available to passengers on discount flights, a service previously limited to premium tickets.

Ian Malin, Wizz Air’s chief commercial officer, said the airline aims to give “millions of travelers” continuous connectivity without forcing a choice between cheap fares and reliable Wi‑Fi. Starlink vice‑president Jason Fritch added that the technology will provide stable internet at 30,000 feet for both crew and passengers, and that all new‑generation Wizz Air planes will be equipped.

The initiative positions Wizz Air as the first European ultra‑low‑cost airline to offer such advanced in‑flight connectivity, marking a significant step toward more affordable, always‑online travel experiences.
