Wizz Air to roll out Starlink satellite internet on all flights from 2027

Hungarian low‑cost carrier Wizz Air announced that it will equip its aircraft with SpaceX’s Starlink satellite broadband, beginning in 2027. The airline says it will be the first discount carrier in Europe to offer high‑speed, always‑on internet, ending the need for passengers to switch to airplane mode.

Ian Malin, Wizz Air’s commercial director, said the service will let travelers stay connected without paying premium fares. SpaceX sales vice‑president Jason Fritch confirmed that the necessary modifications to the fleet will start in 2027, enabling reliable connectivity even at cruising altitude.
