Włókniarz Częstochowa unveils memorial plaque for Lee Richardson
The Włókniarz Częstochowa speedway club held a ceremony on Thursday, October 29, to honor the memory of British rider Lee Richardson. A commemorative plaque was unveiled at the stadium entrance near Olsztyńska Street.
Richardson, who competed for Włókniarz between 2006 and 2009, helped the team secure both silver and bronze medals in the Polish Team Championships. The memorial event was attended by club officials, including current president Jakub Michalski and former head Marian Maślanka.
Richardson passed away in May 2012 following a fatal accident during a race in Wrocław while riding for Stal Rzeszów. The accident occurred during a match between Betard Sparta Wrocław and PGE Marma Rzeszów, resulting from internal injuries and a ruptured lung.
