Wladimiro Falcone discusses leadership and goals at Lecce

Wladimiro Falcone, the captain and goalkeeper for US Lecce, has reflected on his personal growth and evolving leadership role within the club. Since arriving on loan in the summer of 2022, Falcone has transitioned from a young player into a central figure and leader for both the squad and the city.

Falcone expressed pride in reaching 162 appearances for the club, a milestone that surpasses previous historical records held by former goalkeepers Lorieri and Nardin. He highlighted the strong bond he shares with the Lecce community and expressed gratitude toward the club president for the continued trust placed in him.

Looking ahead to the current Serie A season, Falcone stated his primary objectives are to improve clean sheet numbers and secure the team's safety in the top flight as early as possible. He emphasized the responsibility he feels toward the club's significant fan base, noting that the support of over 22,000 season ticket holders drives his commitment to perform on the pitch.
