Wülfrath fair introduces “Luisa ist hier!” safety initiative

The “Luisa ist hier!” safety initiative will be implemented at the Wülfrath fair for the first time this year. The program is designed to assist individuals who feel uncomfortable, pressured, or harassed during the event.

Under the concept, participants can ask “Is Luisa here?” to signal they need assistance without having to explain their situation immediately. Participating fairground operators will display visible “Luisa ist hier!” posters and receive specific recommendations on how to respond to such requests.

City of Wülfrath Equality Officer Franca Calvano and Claudia Sciannimanica from SKFM Mettmann e. V. introduced the concept alongside Fair Master Axel Paul and Katja Milz, Chairwoman of the Aachen Showmen's Association. Milz noted that while the program is established at larger fairs like the Öcher Bend in Aachen, its adoption by smaller fairs is a positive development.
