WNBA viewership reaches record highs during 30th anniversary season
The WNBA has achieved record-breaking viewership during its 30th anniversary season. National television games reached a cumulative audience of more than 91 million viewers, doubling the reach recorded in 2025.
Key broadcasting milestones include 51 telecasts averaging over one million viewers, a significant increase from the 19 broadcasts that reached that threshold in 2025. Additionally, nine telecasts averaged more than two million viewers. The league also saw a record 320 million hours of coverage during the regular season, while the first round of the playoffs averaged 1.3 million viewers.
The Indiana Fever were a primary driver of these ratings. The team participated in 14 of the top 15 most-watched broadcasts of the season. A matchup between the Fever and the Sky on NBC and Peacock drew 3.31 million viewers, marking the largest regular-season audience since the league's inaugural weekend in 1997.
