WNTS-Pemping pipeline completes commissioning to restore Natuna gas flow

The WNTS-Pemping undersea pipeline successfully completed its gas-in commissioning on October 4, 2026, at 00:00 WIB. This milestone allows gas from the Natuna region to flow again to support domestic energy needs, specifically for PLN in Batam.

Djoko Siswanto, Head of SKK Migas, described the achievement as a critical step in strengthening national energy security and the reliability of the electricity system. The project involved complex technical challenges, including hot-tapping and construction under tight deadlines.

The successful operation was a collaborative effort involving several entities, including the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, BPH Migas, Medco E&P Natuna (the WNTS operator), WNTS Gas, PGN, Transmisi Gas Indonesia, and PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia.
