Włodzimierz Czarzasty criticizes clergy at Campus Polska

During an appearance at Campus Polska, Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty addressed the role of the clergy in public life. He stated, “Let us not be afraid of the clergy,” while criticizing what he described as the arrogance of religious figures.

Czarzasty suggested that the state should replace clergy in small towns and drew a comparison regarding the handling of abuse cases, stating, “It cannot be that a pedophile teacher goes to prison, while a pedophile priest goes from parish to parish.”

These remarks come during the anniversary of the August Agreements, a period in Polish history characterized by the struggle for freedom of speech, conscience, and the right for various faiths to have a presence in the public sphere and mass media.
