WOFAN commissions new Bagauda Community Primary School in Kano State
The Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN) has commissioned a new community primary school in the Bagauda area of Bebeji Local Government, Kano State. The new facility replaces a dilapidated structure that previously hindered local teaching and learning.
The project was funded through a combination of farmers’ savings, community contributions, and organizational support as part of WOFAN’s ‘We Can Work’ initiative, which focuses on agriculture and financial inclusion for women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
The initiative was highlighted by the volunteer efforts of Malam Abubakar Idris Yusha’u, a person living with a disability who traveled approximately 20 kilometers from Kura Town to teach children despite physical challenges and poor road conditions. His service drew the attention of WOFAN Executive Director Dr. Salamatu Garba, contributing to the project's momentum.
