Wojciech Mońka set for record €12 million transfer from Lech Poznań to Saudi side Al‑Qadsiah

Polish centre‑back Wojciech Mońka, a key defender for Lech Poznań, has attracted strong interest from abroad. Saudi Professional League club Al‑Qadsiah is reported to be ready to offer up to €12 million, which would break the Ekstraklasa transfer‑fee record.

Lech Poznań sporting director Tomasz Rząsa said the club will weigh any offer that cannot be refused, while noting Mońka was not called up to the national team for the June training camp. Al‑Qadsiah, the fourth‑placed Saudi side set to play in the Asian Champions League, has previously spent heavily on young talent, including €17 million for Christopher Bonsu Baah and €62 million for Mateo Retegui. There are also rumours of interest from German clubs, with suggested bids starting around €8 million. The move could involve an immediate loan to a European club after the transfer.
