Wojciech Stachowiak moves to Örebro HK to pursue NHL ambitions

Professional ice hockey player Wojciech Stachowiak is leaving the German DEL club ERC Ingolstadt to join Örebro HK in the Swedish league. The move is intended to provide Stachowiak with a platform to re-establish himself for a potential return to the NHL.

ERC Ingolstadt announced that they have dissolved Stachowiak's contract, which was originally set to run until 2027 but had been paused during his time in North America. Sport Director Tim Regan stated that the club decided to part ways because Stachowiak is “100 percent focused” on maximizing his chances for an NHL contract, a goal that does not align with the immediate needs of the Ingolstadt roster.

Stachowiak, 27, previously played 281 games for Ingolstadt before becoming the first player in the club's history to move directly to an NHL organization. During his time in North America, he played for the Tampa Bay Lightning organization and spent time with AHL teams including the Syracuse Crunch and the Grand Rapids Griffins.
