Wojciech Szczęsny commits to another season with Barcelona
Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny confirmed he will remain at FC Barcelona for the upcoming campaign, acknowledging that he is the oldest and most experienced player in the squad. He said he has no personal ambitions, will support younger teammates on and off the pitch, and accepts that he may not be the first‑choice keeper under coach Xavi Hernández.
Szczęsny noted that the recent departure of fellow Polish striker Robert Lewandowski gave him more time to speak Spanish with his teammates. At 36, he has played 42 matches for Barcelona, conceding 57 goals and keeping 14 clean sheets, and sees this could be his final season before retirement.
