Wojciech Szczęsny says training at Barcelona has become increasingly painful

Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny, 36, told TVP Sport that each training session at FC Barcelona now feels like a growing burden, demanding more mental energy and physical effort. He admitted that, while he copes better with personal life changes, the professional side of his career is increasingly taxing.

Szczęsny is entering the final year of his contract with Barcelona, which runs until June 2027, and will be the sole Polish player at the club after Robert Lewandowski’s departure. He has appeared in 12 matches this season, conceding 21 goals, and currently serves as backup to first‑choice keeper Joan García, with future competition from Marc‑Andre ter Stegen and potential new signings being discussed.
