Wolf Activity Monitored in Midden-Brabant, Netherlands

The province of North Brabant has launched an active monitoring programme after several wolf sightings and signs were recorded in the forested areas of Midden‑Brabant, including the Chaamse Bossen near Oosterhout. Provincial officials are working with wildlife organisation Zodion (formerly the Mammal Association) and local groups to map the wolves' range and movements, which appear to involve two individuals establishing a presence.

Residents and recreational users are being advised to stay calm, keep dogs on short leashes, give wolves space and avoid feeding or approaching them. The province urges anyone who sees a wolf or its tracks to report the observation, preferably with photos or video, to the national wolf reporting point (BIJ12).
