Wolf Alice releases ‘Hammond Song’ with Julia Cumming, Bria Salmena

British band Wolf Alice collaborated with Sunflower Bean frontwoman Julia Cumming and singer‑songwriter Bria Salmena to record a new version of The Roches’ 1979 folk classic “Hammond Song”. The track was recorded in Los Angeles during the sessions for Wolf Alice’s fourth album, The Clearing, and will be issued on 21 August, marking the one‑year anniversary of that album’s release.

The cover follows recent high‑profile performances, including Wolf Alice’s biggest London show at Finsbury Park and a New York City concert at Pier 17, where the trio performed the song live for the first time. The original “Hammond Song” was written by Maggie Roche of The Roches and was inspired by a stay in Hammond, Louisiana.
