Wolf rescued from canal in Lodigiano

A young male wolf was successfully rescued after becoming trapped in the Vigana canal in the Lodigiano region. The animal had spent several hours struggling against the current in the artificial channel, eventually clinging to an iron ladder to avoid drowning.

Emergency responders, including the Fire Brigade, Provincial Police, and veterinary services, coordinated the rescue. To ensure safety, the Consorzio Muzza temporarily reduced the water flow in the canal. An operator reached the wolf, and a veterinarian sedated the animal to facilitate a safe recovery. The wolf has been transferred to the Monte Adone Center for the Protection and Research of Exotic and Wild Fauna in Sasso Marconi for medical observation.
