Wolfenstein 3 in Development with Amazon TV Series Tie‑In
Microsoft is reportedly moving forward with Wolfenstein 3, the next entry in the long‑running first‑person shooter franchise developed by MachineGames. The game is slated to launch alongside a new television series produced for Amazon MGM, with the two projects designed to complement each other in a trans‑media approach similar to the Fallout TV collaboration.
The report, credited to Windows Central editor Jez Corden, also notes recent leadership changes at both MachineGames and Arkane Studios. Co‑founder Jerk Gustafsson has taken over as president of Arkane, succeeding Leonard Bendel, while remaining involved with MachineGames. These shifts come amid broader restructuring within Xbox, though there are no indications that Arkane’s upcoming projects, such as Marvel’s Blade, are in jeopardy.
The planned release is expected for Xbox and PC, potentially via Game Pass at launch, with PlayStation support unconfirmed. No official release window has been announced, but a 2027 timeframe or later is considered plausible given the TV series’ pending schedule.
