Wolfgang Petersen's 2004 epic 'Troy' filmed in England, Malta and Mexico, to air on Italian TV in August 2026

The 2004 historical epic *Troy*, directed by Wolfgang Petersen and starring Brad Pitt as Achilles, was shot at Shepperton Studios in England and on location in Malta and Mexico. The three‑hour‑plus film grossed more than $497 million worldwide and remains a notable adaptation of Homer's *Iliad*.

Italian broadcaster Rete 4 has scheduled a television premiere of *Troy* for Sunday, 2 August 2026 at 21:25, promoting the classic war story to a new audience.

The production featured a large ensemble cast including Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Diane Kruger and Sean Bean, and its extensive set pieces and battle sequences were filmed over eight months in 2003.
