Wolfgang Petry announces end of concert tours with new album
German Schlager singer Wolfgang Petry has announced that he will not embark on any further concert tours, stating that his live performances will ‘remain only in memory.’ The 75-year-old artist, who recently celebrated his 75th birthday and 50 years on stage, confirmed this decision to the German Press Agency (dpa).
To mark these milestones, Petry has released a new studio album titled ‘Ein Leben lang’ (A Lifetime). The album features eleven new songs and two bonus tracks, including a single titled ‘Weiter immer weiter,’ which features his son Achim Petry and grandson Giorgio Petry. The work is described as a self-reflective collection that touches on themes of aging, life, and love.
While Petry continues to release music, he has largely withdrawn from the public eye and large-scale live events in recent years. His new album serves as a musical celebration of his five-decade career and his connection with his audience.
