Wolfram Weimer accuses AfD of historical revisionism

Culture State Minister Wolfram Weimer has accused the AfD of historical revisionism, stating that the party's positions regarding remembrance culture challenge the moral integrity of the German Republic. Weimer criticized the party's rhetoric concerning the National Socialist era and its approach to East German history.

To safeguard memorial sites, particularly in Saxony-Anhalt, the federal government will provide an additional 10 million euros nationwide next year. Weimer noted that while the government is taking precautionary measures to protect and strengthen these sites, he remains concerned about the spreading ideology of nationalism.
