Austrian Bundesliga: Rapid Wien dominates WAC as GAK secures away win

In the Austrian Bundesliga, SK Rapid Wien secured a dominant 3-0 victory against Wolfsberger AC, moving to second place in the standings, level with LASK. The win follows a period of struggle for WAC, who remain winless in five league matches.

GAK achieved their first away win of the season with a 2-1 victory over SCR Altach, marking the first league win under new coach Gerald Scheiblehner. The result leaves Altach in the relegation zone with four consecutive losses.

Other notable results include WSG Tirol securing a 2-2 draw against TSV Hartberg via a 95th-minute penalty, and Bergische HC suffering a narrow 28-29 defeat to HC Erlangen in the German Handball Bundesliga. In field hockey, Austrian champions SV Arminen opened their season with a 4-2 win over AHTC.

Looking ahead, Austria Wien seeks to end a winless streak against Austria Lustenau, while SK Sturm Graz prepares for a high-stakes matchup against the league-leading LASK.
