Wolfsburg receives awards for children's rights and family tourism

Wolfsburg has received two distinct recognitions highlighting its commitment to children and families.

The AWO-Kita Wendschott in Wolfsburg was awarded the 2026 Lower Saxony KinderHabenRechtePreis. This award, presented by the Social Ministry and the Kinderschutzbund, honors the daycare center's participation project titled ‘Unsere Rechte sind bunt’ (Our rights are colorful), which focused on teaching children about their rights through creative teamwork.

Additionally, the city of Wolfsburg has been officially certified as a ‘Kinderferienland-Ort’ (Children's Holiday Land Location) in Lower Saxony. The certification, awarded by Tourismus Niedersachsen GmbH, recognizes the city's family-friendly infrastructure and diverse offerings. Ten local partners, including the Autostadt, phaeno, and various hotels, currently hold the Kinderferienland seal, strengthening Wolfsburg's position as an attractive destination for families.
