Wollongong woman sentenced for jeweller theft plot
Shannon Haines, 28, was sentenced at Wollongong Local Court for her role in a theft targeting an Illawarra jeweller. Haines and co-offender Glen David Findell, 43, orchestrated a scheme where Haines posed as a sex worker to gain access to the victim's home.
The incident began at the Master Builders Club, where the pair met the victim. After learning he owned a jewellery store, Findell negotiated a fee to bring Haines to the victim's residence. Upon arriving, Findell stole the victim's wallet, car keys, and jewellery store keys. The victim was subsequently chased by the offenders before they fled on foot. Haines was granted parole following her sentencing for stealing property from a person and inside a house.
