Wolt delivery drivers in Slovenia launch strike

Wolt delivery drivers in Slovenia launched an all-day strike to protest working conditions they describe as unsustainable. Protesters gathered at Ajdovščina Square in Ljubljana to voice grievances regarding declining pay per delivery, lack of transparency in earnings, and an oversaturation of drivers on the platform.

The strikers have issued four primary demands: a minimum guaranteed payment of 20 euros gross per hour of availability, a temporary halt on onboarding new drivers, more effective on-the-ground support, and a clear, transparent billing system. Some participants reported actual earnings as low as six to ten euros gross per hour after accounting for vehicle and fuel costs.

The strike also serves as a memorial for a 26-year-old colleague who died in a motorcycle accident in Maribor last Saturday. Wolt responded to the protests by stating they were not notified of the planned action but emphasized they take concerns regarding earnings, working conditions, and road safety seriously and remain open to dialogue.
