Wolt faces legal action over alleged market dominance abuse

The Danish Competition Council has concluded that the food delivery platform Wolt violated competition laws by “abusing its dominant position” in the market through three distinct methods. Following an investigation by the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority, the Council has decided to bring the case to court to seek a fine against the company.

Wolt has expressed disagreement with the decision. Jakob Bollerup, the acting country manager for Wolt, stated that the company intends to take the case to court to ensure a “balanced review of the evidence and the competitive situation” during an appeal process.
