Wolt reports revenue growth in Greece amid tax penalties
Wolt, the Greek delivery platform owned by DoorDash, reported a significant increase in revenue for 2025, reaching 133.7 million euros, a 34.7% increase compared to 2024. When combined with Wolt Market, the company's online supermarket arm, which saw sales rise 33.7% to 47.7 million euros, the total turnover for the group reached 181.4 million euros.
Despite the strong growth and a doubling of pre-tax profits to 1.27 million euros, the company returned to a net loss of 1.97 million euros in 2025, compared to a profit of approximately 190,000 euros the previous year. This loss was primarily driven by a heavy tax burden totaling 3.24 million euros.
A significant portion of this financial pressure stemmed from a tax audit covering the 2021 and 2022 fiscal years, resulting in 2.48 million euros in additional taxes and penalties. This included 2.02 million euros in income tax and 463,000 euros in VAT-related charges.
