Wolt sees 16‑fold rise in orders by Slovak users abroad, Czech Republic tops destinations

Slovak customers of the delivery platform Wolt have dramatically increased their use of the service while traveling abroad. Internal data show that the number of orders placed by Slovaks outside Slovakia grew about 16.6 times – roughly a 1,500% jump – between 2019 and 2025, amounting to almost 600,000 orders.

The Czech Republic is by far the most popular foreign market, receiving three to four times more Slovak orders than the next‑most‑used country, Hungary. Other frequently chosen destinations include Greece, Cyprus, Germany and Poland. Wolt spokesperson Tomáš Kubík said the trend reflects strong Slovak travel to the Czech Republic for culture, sport, work and leisure, and that the app aims to provide the same convenience abroad as at home.

Wolt, a Helsinki‑based technology company operating in more than 30 countries, has been present in Slovakia since 2019 and is now available in over 70 Slovak cities. In 2022 the firm partnered with DoorDash, extending its brand to 28 markets under the Wolt name.
