Wolverhampton Wanderers nearing deal for Jordan James

Wolverhampton Wanderers are nearing a deal to sign Welsh midfielder Jordan James on loan from Stade Rennais. The move is intended to bolster the squad's midfield depth and tactical flexibility.

Reports indicate the deal may involve an initial loan with an automatic option to make the transfer permanent. While one report suggests a loan fee of approximately £1.7m, another indicates the permanent transfer could cost around £10m. James, who has two years remaining on his contract in France, is expected to provide versatility to the Wolves lineup, with the ability to play as a defensive, central, or attacking midfielder.

Wolves have faced competition for the player from several Championship and Premier League clubs, including Middlesbrough, Burnley, and West Ham, but appear to have moved to the front of the queue to secure his services before the transfer window closes.
