Wolves' attempt to sign Flamengo goalkeeper Andrew Ventura rejected

Wolverhampton Wanderers have made an enquiry for Brazilian goalkeeper Andrew Ventura, who previously played under manager César Peixoto at Gil Vicente. Peixoto, now in charge of Wolves, is keen to reunite with the former Gil Vicente star as the club looks to bolster its goalkeeping options ahead of the new season.

Flamengo have turned down the approach, stating that Ventura is not for sale and remains an important part of their plans. Ventura, 25, joined Flamengo from Gil Vicente in January after a successful spell in Portugal where he kept 36 clean‑rooms in 116 matches. The rejection leaves Wolves still dealing with goalkeeper shortages, with Sam Johnstone injured and third‑choice Daniel Bentley currently between the posts.

The failed enquiry highlights Wolves' ongoing transfer activity in the summer window as they seek to address squad depth ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.
