Wolves draw 1-1 with Portsmouth at Molineux

Wolves head coach Cesar Peixoto expressed disappointment following a 1-1 draw against Portsmouth at Molineux on Tuesday. Despite leading through a 62nd-minute goal from substitute Jordan James, Wolves conceded a late equalizer when Terry Devlin volleyed home for Portsmouth in the 86th minute.

The result leaves Wolves in seventh place in the Championship, five points behind leaders Swansea City. Peixoto noted that the team must improve its home form to sustain a promotion challenge, highlighting that the club has secured only two home wins so far in the 2026-27 season.

In addition to the tactical shortcomings, Peixoto addressed injury concerns, specifically mentioning Kieran Trippier and expressing hope that Adam Armstrong will be fit for the upcoming match on Saturday. While Wolves controlled much of the possession, their efficiency was limited, recording an expected goals (xG) total of 1.01 compared to Portsmouth's 0.65.
