Woman arrested for fatal stabbing of 81-year-old cyclist in Minas Gerais

A 24-year-old woman has been arrested in Formiga, Minas Gerais, for the fatal stabbing of 81-year-old José Eustáquio Ferreira. The incident occurred on Monday while the victim was riding his bicycle in the Sagrado Coração de Jesus neighborhood. Security footage captured the suspect pulling a knife from her bag and striking the victim in the abdomen during a brief encounter near the Instituto Federal de Minas Gerais (IFMG).

Although witnesses provided initial assistance, Mr. Ferreira died at a local health unit. Following her arrest on Tuesday, the Civil Police revealed that the suspect is also under investigation for three previous attempted homicides in the city of Arcos, also located in the Central-West region of Minas Gerais.
