Woman arrested for setting husband on fire in Campo Grande, Brazil

Police arrested a woman in the Danúbio Azul neighborhood of Campo Grande after she doused her husband with alcohol and set him ablaze. The 2nd‑degree burns victim was taken to Santa Casa de Campo Grande for treatment. Investigators said the assault occurred during a domestic dispute in which the couple argued over the woman's brother‑in‑law. The woman claimed she acted in desperation and used a lighter to ignite the alcohol.

The incident follows a similar case a month earlier, when a veterinary doctor in the city was convicted of attempting to kill her husband by fire. Authorities are treating both cases as severe domestic‑violence crimes.
