Woman dies after bus collision in Lomas de Zamora

Mirta Fernández, a 73-year-old retiree, has died after being struck by a line 544 bus in the center of Lomas de Zamora. The accident occurred last Wednesday at the intersection of Sáenz and Manuel Castro, near Plaza Grigera, while Fernández was crossing the street with her 23-year-old granddaughter, Mariana.

Fernández suffered a severe skull fracture and passed away after a week in critical condition. Her granddaughter, who sustained serious injuries, has since been discharged from the hospital and is recovering.

The bus company, Yitos S.A., has immediately dismissed the driver. Legal proceedings against the driver are being upgraded to involuntary manslaughter as the judicial investigation continues.
