Woman faces drug charges after failing to pay 6,000 baht taxi fare
A 24-year-old woman, identified as Aom from Bueng Kan, is facing legal action after failing to pay a 6,000 baht taxi fare for a trip from Bangkok to Udon Thani. The taxi driver, 57-year-old Narong, reported the incident to police at the National Sports University campus after the passenger was unable to contact her relatives to settle the bill.
Aom claimed she intended to visit her brother, whom she believed was a student at the university, but staff could not locate him. During the police investigation, a urine test returned a positive result for methamphetamine. Additionally, officers discovered a chat history on her phone containing a photo of a package suspected to be crystal methamphetamine. She now faces charges related to both the unpaid fare and the consumption of a Category 1 narcotic.
