Woman killed by husband on Güzelyurt-Lefkoşa Highway

A 35-year-old woman, Rukiye Tunçer, was killed by her husband, 41-year-old Seydi Ahmet Tunçer, on the Güzelyurt-Lefkoşa Highway. The incident occurred around 18:45 while the couple was traveling in a vehicle from Güzelyurt toward Lefkoşa.

Following an argument, the vehicle lost control near the Alayköy Industrial Zone, striking a concrete wall and traveling approximately 110 meters into a field before stopping. During the altercation, the suspect used a spiral seat-brushing tool to strike Tunçer in the head multiple times, resulting in her death.

The suspect surrendered to the police at the scene and confessed to the crime. Police investigators have seized the tool used in the killing as evidence. This incident marks the second femicide reported in the region within a single week.
