Woman rescued from year-long captivity in Paraná

A 27-year-old woman was rescued from false imprisonment in Colombo, Paraná, after being held captive by her partner for over a year. The rescue was initiated after the victim sent an email seeking help to a municipal women's ombudsman.

The 34-year-old suspect was arrested in flagrante. According to the Military Police of Paraná, the victim reported a history of domestic violence that included physical assaults, monitoring of her communications and social media, and restrictions on her movement. Police discovered surveillance cameras installed throughout the residence to monitor her activities.
