Women in German agriculture focus on networking and empowerment

Various initiatives in Germany are focusing on the empowerment and networking of women in the agricultural sector. In Bad Waldsee, approximately 20 organic farmers gathered at the Bohner organic farm for a professional exchange and support session. Organized by the Baden-Württemberg Association for Ecological Farming (AÖL) in cooperation with the Ravensburg Organic Model Region and ÖkoNetzBW, the event aimed to increase the visibility of women in agriculture and strengthen their interests in preparation for the International Year of Women in Agriculture 2026.

Ministerial Director Isabel Kling attended the event, emphasizing that women's work is indispensable to the landscape and economy of Baden-Württemberg. Similarly, the Bavarian Farmers' Association (BBV) promotes opportunities for young women through specialized seminars, such as the 'Ladies. Landluft. Lebensträume.' program in Nordheim. These initiatives provide platforms for young women in rural areas to connect with successful professionals, participate in farm excursions, and discuss the unique challenges of living and working on a farm.
