Women represent 40% of Brazil's rural decision-makers

Women now represent 40% of the 10.7 million rural decision-makers in Brazil, totaling approximately 4.3 million people. According to a study titled ‘Perfil da Mulher do Agronegócio Brasileiro: 10 anos de transformação e avanços’, presented by the Brazilian Agribusiness Association (Abag), female participation in property ownership, management, and technology use has expanded over the last decade.

Data analyzed by Serasa Experian indicates that female producers exhibit lower rates of financial delinquency compared to men. Among large landowners, the delinquency rate was 6.85%, while in the South region, the rate for female producers was 5.4%. This compares favorably to the general rural population delinquency rate of 8.8% recorded in the first quarter of 2026. The study highlights that women are increasingly positioned favorably in risk assessments within the agricultural sector.
