Women's associations celebrate community and heritage in Croatia and Serbia

Local women's organizations in Croatia and Serbia recently held events to celebrate community contributions and cultural heritage.

In Savska Vesa, Croatia, the Udruga žena Savska Ves marked its tenth anniversary. The association, which consists of 18 active members and 10 supporters, was recognized by Čakovec Mayor Ljerka Cividini for its role in preserving tradition and fostering community connection. President Ružica Žnidarić expressed hope for increased involvement from younger residents to ensure the continued vitality of the group.

In Serbia, a cultural program was organized to observe the International Day of Rural Women. The event, a collaboration between several organizations including the Cultural Center and the Women's Activity of Pivnice, focused on the intersection of fashion and history. Through the presentation of books such as ‘Istorija pisana modom’, participants explored how clothing serves as a testament to social changes and collective identity, aiming to preserve local heritage through creative projects.
