Women's basketball: Benfica and Casademont Zaragoza secure key victories

In Portuguese women's basketball, Mariana Valenzuela recorded her first double-double while playing for Benfica. During a recent league match, Valenzuela contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds in 26 minutes of play, leading Benfica to an 88-63 away victory. This win marks the third victory in the club's last four matches since Valenzuela joined the team in September.

In the EuroLeague, Casademont Zaragoza maintained an undefeated streak with an 89-78 away win against Athinaikos in Greece. Despite a mid-game surge by the Greek side, Zaragoza controlled much of the match through strong rebounding and key performances from Mariona Ortiz, Aisha Sheppard, and Meritt Hempe. The victory strengthens Zaragoza's standing in the international competition.
