Women's collegiate soccer teams secure shutout victories

In recent women's collegiate soccer action, both Point Park and Penn State secured shutout victories.

Point Park defeated Shawnee State 2-0 in a Mountain East Conference matchup. Goalkeeper Nicole Kuchinski recorded her seventh shutout of the season, making three saves. Freshman Meera Irwin scored the opening goal in the 32nd minute, followed by a goal from senior Maria Gomez in the 80th minute. Point Park moves to a 7-3-1 overall record.

Penn State earned a 1-0 road victory against Oregon in Big Ten play. Goalkeeper Mackenzie Gress recorded her fourth shutout of the season, totaling 40 saves on the year. The lone goal for the Nittany Lions was credited as an own goal by Oregon following a shot by freshman Paige Pasinski. Penn State improves to 6-2-4.
