Women's Congress addresses democracy and equality in Poland
The Women's Congress, Poland's largest women's organization, is holding events in Krakow and Toruń to address contemporary social and political challenges.
The Krakow edition features nearly 200 panelists discussing topics such as the future of democracy, women's rights, equality, security, and the impact of new technologies like artificial intelligence and disinformation on civil liberties. Henryka Bochniarz, co-founder of the Congress and president of Konfederacja Lewiatan, emphasized the importance of women accessing leadership roles in major companies, noting the recent implementation of the EU directive on gender balance in corporate boards.
In Toruń, the 5th Metropolitan Women's Congress will take place on September 6 under the theme ‘Together’. This edition aims to include men in discussions regarding health, mental strength, and masculinity. Organizers noted that the event is designed to be inclusive, providing accessibility for individuals with both physical and hearing disabilities.
