Women's empowerment initiatives advance in Bahrain and Egypt

In Bahrain, the Supreme Council for Women and the Shura Council held their first meeting to activate a cooperation agreement aimed at developing women's affairs. The meeting, led by Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi and Ejlal Issa Boubashit, focused on establishing a methodology to support the national model for gender balance. The collaboration seeks to monitor legislative requirements and integrate women's needs into national development, specifically preparing for the post-2026 national strategy for Bahraini women.

In Egypt, the National Council for Women participated in a virtual workshop hosted by the Arab Women Organization. The workshop addressed regional studies on women's electoral behavior in the Arab world, focusing on the transition from quantitative political representation to qualitative political influence. Representatives emphasized that empowering women is a national investment in stability and democracy, highlighting Egypt's National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030 as a framework for increasing female presence in decision-making roles.
