Women's empowerment initiatives launched in Mexico and Colombia

In Guanajuato, Mexico, Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo led a celebration to recognize the contributions of women to the state's history. The event honored individuals across different life stages, including Camila Hernández Santiago for advancing children's rights, Alma Patricia Torres Rojas for youth leadership and inclusion, and Concepción Alejandra López Vázquez for her long-term dedication to education.

In Medellín, Colombia, the local government reported a massive response to the ‘Decididas’ initiative. More than 3,900 women applied for the program, which aims to provide tools for economic autonomy, education, and community leadership. The program prioritizes caregivers, victims of gender-based violence, female heads of household, and vulnerable populations. Selected participants will receive support through November 2026, focusing on education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
