Women's film festivals announce selections for GENERAMMA and Biarritz Amérique Latine

The sixth edition of GENERAMMA, a film festival for women organized by the Asociación Andaluza de Mujeres de los Medios Audiovisuales, has selected its short film lineup. Out of over 400 submissions, 25 works have been chosen, including two absolute premieres and five national premieres. The competition features both Spanish and international official sections, with juries led by figures such as human rights activist Lydia Cacho and Goya Award-winning producer Manuela Ocóny.

In Ecuador, the documentary “Nosotras,” directed by Priscilla Aguirre of the Universidad de las Artes, has been selected for the official competition at the 35th Biarritz Amérique Latine festival in France and the 25th EDOC (Encuentros del Otro Cine). The documentary, which resulted from an eight-year research project involving women in the Guayaquil Social Rehabilitation Center, is scheduled for a commercial release in Guayaquil and Quito on October 8.
