Women's football expands through cultural recognition and global investment

The landscape of women's football is evolving through both cultural recognition and increased global investment. In Brazil, the Museu do Futebol held a literary contest titled ‘Mulheres em Campo’ (Women on the Field), which received 706 valid entries from nine states. The contest highlighted the female perspective on the sport, with Lindjane Pereira from Paraíba winning recognition for her chronicle ‘Traves de pedras’, and Juliana Babuja from São Paulo taking first place with ‘O Nome na Rede’.

On an international scale, the sport is seeing a shift in market dynamics. Players, particularly from Portugal, are increasingly finding opportunities in emerging markets. Countries such as Saudi Arabia and Turkey are investing in women's football structures, competitions, and talent to accelerate the development of the modality, mirroring the recent growth seen in their men's football sectors.
