Women's football titles awarded to Deportivo Cuenca and Península FC

In Ecuadorian women's football, Deportivo Cuenca has been crowned champion of the Provincial Segunda Categoría Femenina. Organized by the Asociación de Fútbol del Azuay (AFA), the team secured the title with a 2-0 victory over Los Potros, featuring goals from Karol Guzhñay and Jennifer Chumbay. This victory grants the team the right to participate in the national promotion tournament organized by the Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol (FEF), which serves as a pathway to the 2027 Superliga Femenina.

Separately, Península FC has won the 2026 Serie A Femenina title. The championship match took place on October 10 at the Daring Stadium in Salinas against Academia Sport JC. The victory marks a significant milestone for women's football in the Santa Elena province.
