Women's health market faces $350 billion longevity gap
A global investigation by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has identified a $350 billion gap in the female longevity market. The study, conducted for the St. Moritz Longevity Forum and surveying over 10,000 people across 12 countries, reveals that women in perimenopause and menopause are the most active consumers of longevity-related products and services, with a median monthly spend of $84.
Despite this investment, women report low satisfaction with current options. Research suggests that one in three women in this demographic would be willing to increase their monthly spending to approximately $108 if products and services offered better, more comprehensive results tailored to their specific needs.
In addition to market gaps, medical professionals highlight challenges regarding treatment accessibility. While hormone replacement therapy is considered the most efficient method for managing symptoms like hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and metabolic changes, there are reported shortages of these treatments. Approximately 80% of menopausal women experience symptoms, with over 30% facing severe issues, yet many remain undertreated due to medical contraindications or lack of access to effective solutions.
